On March 25, 2007 at approximately 1415 local, the crew of CG 25501, a 25 foot Defender Class boat from Maritime Safety and Security Team (MSST) Anchorage (91111), was conducting an escort of a Washington State Ferry in Puget Sound, Washington. During a hard, high-speed turn to starboard, Port Security Specialist Third Class Ronald A. Gill was ejected from the vessel and struck by the boat’s propellers, suffering fatal injuries.
