MSU Galveston (1994)

On 13 July 1994 Senior Chief James A. Pavini and Chief Charles R. Blome, Jr., Marine Inspectors from MSU Galveston, were two of four passengers aboard a contract helicopter on their way to inspect a merchant vessel underway at sea off Galveston, Texas. The helicopter, an Aerospatiale AS-350B1, leased by Sea-Link Helicopters, crashed into the Gulf, killing all four passengers. The pilot was the only survivor.
