Three members of the Coast Guard assigned to Station Appledore Island, New Hampshire were drowned when their 30 foot motor sailing launch was struck by a squall and sank. They were Reginald C. Chesterton and Leo E. Foss, both of Jonesport and Sherman Parker, of Cape Elizabeth.
